Maiwald - Not To See The Wood For The Trees
Alternative projections for reassurance internal inconveniences # 1-7, Cologne 2012. The photographs of the MAIWALD series are part of the DIGITALIS cycle.
In series of seven pictures, the forest changes into an obscurely dark greyish-blue structure. The change of photography from the analogue to the digital age with an irritated look at the turn of time is themed.
The moment in the first image could be an authentic one, digitally photographed, but conceived analogously (2001) and thus close to the old photographic way of thinking. In the age of digital "increase", the possibilities of photography, processing and perception also change exponentially. Analog photography as a "time machine" into the past is gradually broken down into its individual parts by each new digital extension and disappears in an impenetrable fog of infinite possibilities.
It remains to be seen whether the possibilities of our digital turn of events will actually lead to the calming of inner circumstances...
