The Eifel
The Eifel is in the west of Germany. To the north it merges into the Lower Rhine Bay, to the west into the Ardennes. In the south, it ends at the Moselle, and in the east, finally, at the Middle Rhine. The Eifel is part of the Rhenish Slate Mountains and forms the western foothills of the German low mountain range threshold in the Ardennes.
The Eifel is one of the most lightly populated regions in Germany. This book traces the people who live in the Eifel - in towns and villages - their habits, customs and habits. In pictures by Bernd Arnold and texts by Lutz-P. Eisenhut, it shows a living space that is characterised by contradictions: the contrast between tradition and modernity, the contrast between idyllic country life and bustling urbanity.
